1000-1200 Gaming build help please.

It's been a while since I have looked into this stuff. I mean, we're talking the hay days of the AMD 1600+XP days.

If anyone could spec something out for me that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm basically looking for a straight up gaming rig in the 1-1200 range. Max budget is about 1500, but I need to purchase a monitor too (monitor suggestion would be nice too).

I have no brand preference in terms of AMD/Intel and ATI/Geforce.

I'm just looking for a solid machine that can run everything at high specs. WoW, Heroes, CoD, and any other game that seems interesting.

Hi Matt, glad to see you back at the forums!

Can you give some additional information such as:

Desired resolution of said monitor you plan to purchase
If you have anything that you will be porting over to the new build (hard drives, etc)
Do you already have an operating system to install?
Do you plan to overclock?
And where are you located (USA/EU/etc)?
