So I was thinking of upgrading my motherboard to a NF7-S as my rma'ed 8rda+ wont do over 200fsb.

However, i was goingto sell my 8rda+ for $40 and buy the aBit for $60 (tricked out with mods) for a net cost of $20

Someone on another forum pointed out though that newegg had a 3400+ A64 Venice plus Biostar Board for $99 shipped total.

How much performance gain would I see with this chip over the 2100 @2.3 ghz (220-240fsb)

I could sell my 8rda+ and 2100+ to alleviate the cost, what do you think

I just want to be able to use my Twinmos pc3200 ddr ram with the new board.

One last thing, i was able to play COD2 and Fear with good resolution and med-high settings on my current rig

You'll see a nice boost. I went from an AXP running 2.2GHz (10x220) to the rig in my sig and I saw a decent gain. That $100 cpu/mobo combo is similar to my 754 setup, but even faster. I stopped my OC at 2.25GHz because the ECS mobo doesn't have provisions for a fsb faster than 250, and I have a junky psu that I didn't want to push too hard. You'll be starting at 2.4 and should get 2.6+ GHz. For the money it'll be quite the upgrade.

in my sig youll see my current system and previous, both running close mhz but the 3200+ runs ALOT better than the 2500+ did, i play games like Battlefield 2 in med detail at 1280x1024 res now which the 2500+ system was struggling to do (the 2500+ system had a 6600 AGP vid card so they were similar)

id suggest moving to the 3400+ because its a better CPU all round and that way youll have a 939 board for upgrading in the future, unfortunatly socket A is dead and buried now :(

i agree with the man from the "rock"....

Socket A is dead along with 754... 939 will come soon..probably when qaud core hits
