So my HP 6910p came to me with an intel T7500 in it. Nice little C2D. Didn't run too hot, decent power usage, and decently fast for the $200 we payed for the entire laptop.
I got my hands on an Intel T8100, and dropped it in. Lost 1MB of Cache, and 100mhz of clock speed, but get this: Battery life increased by about 50-60%. I went from 4 hours of battery life to 6 hours, and that's with higher clock speeds being used on battery, and higher screen brightness. The T8100 uses a TON less power, and the temperatures went from 45C idle to this:
I'm a happy owner It runs on much much lower voltages as well. (I manually decrease the voltage to what's needed by the CPU in order to save power and heat)
