As evidenced by my sig, it has been a while! Just stumbled across the forums again after a recent meltdown of my current rig and subsequent Googling.

Started going through old parts and found my old MSI Ti-4600 in a box covered with dust. Started getting all nostalgic. Had this running on a EPoX 8RDA+ Crush 18D with XP 1700+ JIUHB DLT3C at a blazing 2.33GHz.

Maybe not ancient but pretty old! This was one of my favorite setups and just had a lot of fun squeezing as much as I could out of it (with air cooling anyway). The 1700+ was a sweet spot at the time.

Any old OC rigs still running out there just for the sake of nostalgia? If the EPoX didn't die on me I'd probably get it up and running again!

I still run a Phenom II as my main rig. Of course, its not considered "ancient" but nevertheless, it takes me back.

Here is a picture dated from 2007 - one of my earlier (documented) builds. You can see my Athlon XP rig on the ground in the lower right and on the table we have an Athlon X2 4000+ (built for my uncle).

I continued to use my Athlon XP rig well past this point. What a workhorse. My dad and I spend the winter months of 2006 going cross country. So I used the XP rig as my picture library, using power from an inverter going to the electrical system in our car. Improvised laptop, so to speak.

Here is a picture from my Phenom II 970BE Zosma core build circa 2012 - 2013.

I currently have a build on the docket for my Athlon XP 3000+, albeit I've run into a couple snags recently. But we will get there!

Nice! Love getting life out of a good setup. I ran several XP chips and always loved them. Haven't had an Intel setup since the Pentium II with that big old slot 1 :)

This should turn you on then.

AN7
XP-M 2800+
OCZ booster
BH-5 ram
Thermalright NB1 NB cooler

All ready for dry ice.

Pick a platform. I have all the oldies, including slots. :)

Project Nazareth

This build has been with me since 2010 in various configurations. Started out with a 560ti GPU and an i5-650. Ended with the Xeon series on the same card. Upgraded cards a while back and now it's half modernized.

EVGA P55 SLI
Xeon X3470 (4.03ghz aio)
EVGA GTX 1050 ti
16gb Ballistix Sport DDR3

Most recently I drifted back into the PC world and gave it a little makeover with the water cooler, new case, and 4 Noctua fans.

Pic heavy

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I wonder what the oldest overclock still kicking around here is.

Not technically an OC, but my first computer was a 1MHz CompuAdd, and as a kid I remember excitedly discovering a "turbo" jumper on the mobo that kicked it to a blazing..... 2MHz!!

I don't know if it actually did anything, but DOS sure felt quick.

Ahhhh the gold ol 1700+ My first OC. Just tossed the 1 pound+ zalman solid copper heatsink I had on her a few weeks ago.

Oldest rig I have kicking is my q6600, so not that old. Makes a great HTPC.

Oldest rig still kicking is a QX6850 in an HTPC configuration.

Also have a Q9650 paired with an Asus P5Q3 motherboard. Clocked to 4.275Ghz (1900Mhz FSB)

I intend on getting my Athlon XP up and running within the next couple months.

I still have a DX2 66 running at 83.

I loved my Ti4400 & still miss it. I didn't do any v-mods, buy sinked the RAM & added a better GPU cooler. Gave it away years ago to a friend needing an upgrade.

I have a PIII dumpster save that I fire up from time to time, but I think I needed to get the Abit BE6 mobo recapped before I try to overclock it. I have a Geforce2 GTS 256 in it.

I have BE6-II and a GF2 256. When you're ready we should have a little contest. :)

Just sharing. Here is :

Asus K7V
Slot A 750 Pluto core @ 998 on the chiller (note GFD)
Mushkin SDR 150 ram

Running 3D Mark 2001 on a GF2 256 DDR.

Scotty has lots of cool or shall I say, hot hardware. Not sure where he keeps it all. He could start a computer museum.

Mr. Scott I have an NF7 sitting in a basement somewhere. How does it do for sub-ambient? Also why did you set up the mosfet heat-sinks that way, vs just putting one on each?

I wonder what a GPU of that era could do in terms of PPD for folding.

I'd like to resurrect my old system one of these days :)

I have NF7 also. You'll find that most of the NF2 boards all CBB around 0-10c, so you just have to make sure you boot to OS before you go full cool down. If you crash, you just have to warm it back up over that temp before you try again.

As for my sinks, I used what I had at the time. lol
No other reason than that. They do the job fine.

I actually think it would be easier for me to obtain LN2 than DICE, I'll have to look into it. Do you make your own pots?
