Any updates on the 290/290x aftermarket card situation?

In reality how loud is the reference cooler? I've heard its bad but this 550ti at 100% fan speed is LOUD. Like crinkly lays bag in the middle of a movie distractingly loud..

At 70% fan speed I can hear it downstairs in my house if I don't close the door to my office upstairs. It is very loud. Now granted it is only at that speed because it is mining, when gaming it never comes close to that so the noise isn't that much of an issue depending on where you set your maximum temperature to.

I believe the Accelero Xtreme III will fit the 290s

Should cool better than any OE fitted fan solution and be quieter. Will take up 3slots though
