Hi btw! :soda:

:Welcome: to OCF!

This would probably be better in the ATI graphics section of the forums. But here is my answer: If you have a big monitor and could use the extra performance go for the X2, they are only $350 these days which is a steal compared to 4 months of ago.

Sorry if this landed in the wrong section, I searched for Crosshair III and 2 threads with not much info came up so I thought I'd put it here. ^^;;

I'll be running the ASUS VW246H (24" WS @1920x1080 native)

Well if you want games to look amazing, go with the X2 than, that is if you can spare the couple hundred on it.

4870 is a good deal, but it's not going to be DirectX 11 compliant.

I think the 5770 is the equivalent to the 4870 in the 5000 series. I know the 58's and 59's are uber powerful and expensive, so if you're on a budget, I'd go with the 5770. I have a 5750, but have OC'd the hell out of it.

Well, on second thought....

My birthday is coming up, and it's 1.5 months from Christmas. My folks always ask me what I want... think I'll hit them up for two 5830's, one for each!

But what I really need is a new power supply. I'm running a 550 which sucks and really would like to get my hands on a 1000w that would last me a while. Should get it before my birthday so I can accommodate those video cards.
