So I've had my corsair h100i fans plugged into the actual h100i and I was bout sick of the fans constantly ramping up and down ever cpl seconds. I ended up just plugging those fans into the mobo and setting them to 100%. My goodness it's alot louder than I expected. Besides going back into the BIOS is there a way to control the speed of these fans? Speedfan doesn't even see them.

Did you do these config steps?

More importantly, you're going to experience the ramping as your CPU temp changes, if your fans are controlled by CPU temp. I would assume that corsair's software would allow you to control fan speed by coolant temp. If your coolant temp is changing that much there may be something wrong with your cooler.

what's wrong with the bios? can't you just set a curve and call it a day?

You can set a curve with the Corsair software too. If you tried, something isn't right. There are many options here. :)

ASUS AI Suite works without problems on my MXIG. I guess it's the same on the MIXH. Settings are the same as in BIOS. Also, there are various modes and fan speed/temp ranges. I had no problem with that but some fans need higher or lower settings to keep stable speed without significant speed change every couple of seconds. This is really annoying and when I don't have time on adjusting speed then I simply set silent mode.

My Favorite and also discontinued :( is the Lamptron FC2 (45w-6ch controller) But if you like some Bling :) They have the FC5 Ver-2 (30w-4ch) and Ver-3 (30w-6ch) controllers :). https://bit-tech.net/reviews/tech/cooling/lamptron-fc5-v3-fan-controller-review/1/
On the other hand...For free is the Corsair Software but this goes by the temp of the CPU. If you have your CPU OCed or put under a Heavy Load (Gaming), then the fans will spin faster to keep the system cool.

P.S. If in doubt buy some Delta Fans = Problem Solved. You will never complain about LOUD NOISES/FANS AGAIN

^ Best Fan that can move air THROUGH a RAD and still move papers on the other side of room  <- Also works for LOUD wife/dog/cars/anything

I had a curve on the corsair software. Thing constantly was ramping up and down, drove me insane.

If it's set right for your system, it shouldnt. :)

How was it set?? Seems too low if it kept ramping up.. or increase hysterisis settings if it has it or raise temp to ramp up

48 watt fans omegalul. 360mm rad in push/pull with 6 fans taking almost 300 watts at full speed for all 6 fans ftw.

I just have it set on performance. Keeps the temps down. Still drops to low rpms though.

Make a custom curve... clearly it isnt working out for you as is.. make the effort to make it work instead of throwing cash it blindly.

Have it go by water temp (if possible) than CPU temp... something. But it can be done. Your system is just st a tipping point. Look and see what it's doing.

I would simply go with a std fan controller like modmymods has. It will need a bay though. I found that you must put the actual cpu cooler to the board pins or your rig will boot without a fan, at least with my mobo and aio setup. I grabbed the Phobya TCP 4 fan controller which resembles perfectly the lamptron noted above. I tried a software based nzxt controller which sat inside the case but the software was so retarded it only worked a short while and I had to toss it (garbage). Modmymods has some very nice controllers, t/s everything. I have yet to hook up any temp cables and generally run my noctuas at ~1800 rpm. I noticed if I restricted the front air intake it would occasionally shutdown so airflow is important to be sure.

$40 or so and a few minutes of your time to plug it in is piece of mind when you've already spent thousands.
Damn they have quite the selection now. Almost makes me want to upgrade to a t/s model but the knob one I have works perfect so why bother. Plus my cases front door hides it perfectly after I modded it a bit.
