OK, the folding group went with the biostar m7vkq MB for their yatta / diskless crunchers. I was going to go there too ..... but the m7vkq uses SDRAM, and I heard that seti gets much more bang from memory bandwidth ......

SO what MB to use as a diskless seti cruncher?

Ideally, there will be video and pxe compatible boot lan, ALL on the board. I would rather NOT get seperate cards, but could be convinced ....

Also, we want DDR, as fast as possible.

BUT, we want everything to be real real cheap. The biostar is only $50, but only does SDRAM.

How about the A7N266-VM ? Got everything. BUT, I heard memory bandwidth is not up to snuff, can anyone comment? AND, its more expensive at about $80.

PROCESSOR? XP or duron?

A) A7N266-VM + 1600 XP is about $140
B) biostar m7vkq + duron 1.2 = about $90

So how much faster is A than B for SETI?

Any other thoughts or solutions?

Thanks
