Old computer, not sure if I need to shoot it just yet

I have lenovo 36c5 1151 LGA, currently running i5 7400

I have another computer that can run i5 8400, but it has more memory

Can anyone tell me what the max cpu I can run in this old mobo?

Many thanks for helping a noob!

A quick search on google yields little about that motherboard. :(

While waiting for more assistance here, I'd reach out to Lenovo and see what they say. :)

You would need to stay within the TDP of the motherboard. If the motherboard has a TDP rating of say, 65W, don't choose an upgrade CPU rated for 95 watts.
