hello , i'm looking for upgrading my memory .

now i have a :

gigabyte ga-m56s-s3 (rev.1) motherboard nforce 560
amd athlon 64 x2 5000+ (not a black edition) ( brisbane = g2 , 1,35v
multiplier 13 x 200 = 2600mhz)
xfx 8600gts factory oc'
2x1 gb kingston memory KHX6400D2LLK2/2G
(- DDR2 - 2 Go (2x1Gb) - PC6400
- 800MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL4 (4-4-4-12) DIMM
- 240-pin Unbuffered DIMM (SDRAM-DDR2, 2.0V, CL4, Gold)

i can oc' towards 3000mhz (settings 250x12) at 1,375 v
with ram set to ddr-667 at 4-4-4-12 2.0v

wel i can by the same 2 memory sticks for 27,99 €

then i have 4x1 gb . but for overclocking it is not that good i guess .

i would replace it with either :

****Patriot Bladed Series 4Go ( 2*2gb ) PC6400 800MHz cas 4-4-4-12 Dual Channel PDC24G6400LLK 40,99€

or

****Crucial Ballistix Tracer - 4 Go ( 2*2Go ) - PC6400 - 800MHz - 4-4-4-12 Unbuffered NON-ECC DDR2-800 2.2V SLI-Ready 128Meg x 64 BL2KIT25664AR80A 49,99€

wich one would be best ?

i dont think i can oc' my processor much further .

the nvidia chipset has no support for ddr2-1066
but if i would place 2x2gb pc8500 would i be recognized en oveclock higher ?

otherwise i can pic these up :

****KINGSTON HyperX 4 Go ( 2*2Go ) 1066MHz DDR2 PC8500 KHX8500D2K2/4G 54,90€

or

****Patriot Viper Series 4Go ( 2*2 ) PC8500 1066MHz cas 5-5-5-15 Dual Channel PVS24G8500ELKR2 54,90€

can you help me out here , wil go and by the memory on friday .

thanks

i haven't tested it with a higher fsb .

i think i will go with the 2x2gb at 800mhz timings 4-4-4-12 , i've googled a lot today and found out that it is like you said so the pc-8500 should not perform so wel on this board .

what is the difference between the regular crucial ballistix (yellow heatspreades )or the tacers ( black or red heatspreaders ) they do both 4-4-4-12 @ 800mhz at the same voltage of 2.0v
