Does VirtualBox run better on AMD systems?

I'm just starting to play around with Oracle VirtualBox. I installed Win 7 virtual machine on a AMD X2 4800+ with 3 gigs actual memory, 1 gig virtual and then I exported it to run on a Core 2 Duo 6300 with 4 gigs actual memory. The virtual machine seems to be smoother and more responsive on the AMD than the Intel computer. Am I nuts or what?

The AMD chip is faster (have you overclocked the Intel?). It could also be that the AMD machine has a faster HD, which can also make all the difference. Does the VM have the same amount of RAM on each host?

no overclocking, and the two hosts are identical in every way.

I've only run VirtualBox on AMD, but I've always had performance beyond smooth from it. It could be that Intel likes VMWare better (that's what I've used on Intel before, as it was available).
