I just signed up to thank you all and to confirm that replacing those three capacitors around the Dolby chip solved the problem, I revived my Creative Inspire 5.1 Digital 5500.
I also replaced the one behind the optical-in port.
In the end, I tested the replaced capacitors and only one was found defective: the 16v 100uF next to the Dolby chip.
