4ghz is HARD with E5xxx ... its possible. do-able ... but harder !

2.875 CANT be your VID ... 1.45 - 1.5 is already high for a 45nm chip.

My Q9550 VID is 1.2375. I dont remember de VID of my E5200 .. but i think its similar to my Q9550. Maybe 1.25. Curently running 3.3ghz with 1.275vcore with my E5200 and this is not fully tweeked so it can be lower. For 4ghz youll need over 1.4vcore for sure.

What are your temp under OCCT small FFT ?

HWmonitor gives you the current voltage, not the VID, and in this case the sensor is out to lunch or you're reading VIN as VID (different things!). The lifespan of a 45nm cpu at 2.8 volts would be a second or less.
For VID you need coretemp, it lists the VID rather then the current voltage.

My e5200 will do 4ghz, but not very stable, and it takes 1.4v (1.42 bios).

dur.... VID on core temp is 1.2875v(say bout tat i guess i didnt double checked...) btw wats gurd ghz for uh everday task and 3x a week gaming...i am want to aim the games at crysis but i dont have it yet

I can game pretty nicelly @ 1920x1080 with my HTPC in sig. GRID run nearly maxed.

Im sur he can go higher but 3.3 is enough for my HTPC use.

wats a good temp to do anyday task and games just give a educated guess on random number. I no tat 73c is a sud. run..... 60c is good for benching and stressing

ok.... i need to install all my programs back in 12hrs and then sum to overclock and ill get back 2 ur questions
