Easy Ram question for Asus M4a785td-v evo

So...........I'm a noob, and I have one of those ^^^^ and I Love it, however just to clarify, It says I can put up to DDR3 1800(but also I can obviously throw in ddr3 1600). Does this mean I can plop in any old DDR3 1800 and I'll be runnin' speedy er wut......

it says it supports it, but unless they added new memory dividers with updated bios, it would mean you having to overclock your reference clock to get it to 1800.

I think the thubans support 1800, but I know the older penom II's and athlon II's always had problems running it past 1600.

Yea, usually it will support higher ram in o/c. Probably like "Supports DDR3 1800(o/c)" on the box or in the specs. You could stick the 1800 in there and it will work fine but it will run 1600 until you overclock.

OH Kay. I got it, I figured that was the case, but wasnt 100% sure but NOW I am so thanks for clearing that up gents.
