No the best thing to do is lie you and lie very good say you don't know what happened. If they ask about overclocking. Just be like what is overclocking? Also I would lie somemore and see if you can get away with saying you had a power failure.

but i didn't overclock it... and i took out the chip and none of the pins are burned off or is there any visible damage on it...

I don't know what package new thunderbirds come (shame on me! But i just use intles) but I remember that original k7-Atlon had a BIG black package with two huge fans by default. Even with original setup my freind was able to overclock 700 to 800 wthout any damage. i guess the new ones just come bare .
