Fallout 3 won't work in Windows 8.

My menu loads up, but after it starts loading a new game, it crashes. I've read of a few fixes but nothing has worked. Any ideas?

"It crashes", meaning what exactly? And so we don't suggest fixes that you've already tried, what have you done so far? Also list your complete system spec's in detail, and whether the CPU and / or the GPU is overclocked and stable.

Well I'm on my laptop, which is by no means a gaming machine. My main rig is out of comission for right now. It's using onboard graphics, 2gb ram, Pentium dual-core. I'm on mobile, so I can't get exact specs. I expect eh fps on low settings.

I did some .ini fixes, tried installing gfwl, and put it in windowed mode.

By crashed, I mean freeze and "this program has stopped working. Windows will check for a fix" or something like that.

In the Fallout.ini you modified the buseThreadedAI=0 entry, and added the line iNumHWThreads=2 ?

Yep, I also tried iNumHWThreads=1 to no avail.
