finally another build

First post out here in a while.

I am finally upgrading from first sig rig (PSU is failing). The Egg had a good price on a Phenom II X4 965 Deneb AM3, so I got it

The reviews on the board seem mixed. People either hate it or love it. Price seems ok.

Don't need the ultimate PC. If I can play Starcraft II at a resonable framerate/resolution, I'll be happy.

This seem like a good combo for the money?

After reading some bad reviews of ASUS RMA and ASUS CS in general, I decided to go with the Gigabyte 970a-ud3http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128519&name=AMD-Motherboards. I got the processor, it's got the 'M' stepping so it's unlocked.

I suppose I could post this in memory...but if I've been doing my reading out here correctly, since I can up the multiplier I can effectively use something like DDR3 1600.

1. Is that right and if so is there any point in getting memory that's any faster?

2. 2x4Gb or 2x8Gb? (future proof-kind of why I got an AM3+ board)
