I was thinking of the new RX 480 and wondered if I could fit two into a 1000 dollar budget.

I figured $200 a RX 480

Throw in a cheap 500gb hdd with this build on newegg and I hit it using refurbished stuff, this would be a beast for the price. No OS included. I acutally used a 750 gb refurbished drive, Seagate Barracuda.

Total is 596.09. Its 15 less after a mail in rebate for the case.

Add 1 RX 480, about $800. 2 RX 480 in crossfire $1000. Based on suggested retail prices.

The 2nd pcie gpu slot in crossfire should not be a bottleneck running at PCIE 3.0 x4.

Given the trend the 1070 and 1080 are setting, dont hold your breath on an rx480 being 200 for a while....

Pass on the refurbished and open box stuff as they aren't super good deals anyway. I paid 50$ my cx750m brand new for instance (granted on sale).
