Gaming 8350 vs 4300

Ok simple and to the point, making a BUDGET setup for one of my kids, taking advantage of spare parts I got lying around. Will be for internet/homework but mostly heavy-ish gaming as you would Have a m8 that can sell me a 8350 cheap or I can simply get one of my old 4300 and OC it to 5ghz/5.2ghz ?

Which one would pull off the best fps considering that most games still only use 4 cores ?

the 8350 on four cores, the 4300 started life as an 8350 but couldn't make the grade.

Motherboard is ASUS, doesn't disable cores properly, so Tit for Tat I think the 4300 would win. Question stands as 8350 4.4ghz or 4300 5ghz/5.2ghz for gaming.

If you already have the Fx 4300 no reason not to use it.
