gigabyte x299 gaming 7 m.2 slot help...

I will be running one 960 evo and using one gpu with a 7820x cpu. The tool that i found suggest using the m.2 slot right under the cpu socket. others have stated using the m.2 slot right under pcie slot 1 but im not sure? i looked in the manual it is very vague. thanks

No worries with a single GPU. You can plug it in any of them.

If you use the M2_Q slot at the bottom, you lose a few SATA lanes (4-7) as that one is attached to the SATA ports. Using a PCIe SSD as you have, in either the M mor P slot, doesn't affect anything else. See manual p36.

If that is slot M or P, then yes. You will have all your SATA ports when using either of those two ports.
