Going wifi n on the mini 9... got some questions?

Alright i posted this over at mydellmini... but they are super slow over there LOL... so

OK guys i got a wifi N card out of a macbook pro.... i popped it in my mini 9 using 2 antennas (theres 3 ports on the AR5BXB72 wifi card - Atheros 5008 based) and was amazed at the increase in signal strength of AP's around me... and i have always been amazed at the stock broadcom card! Needless to say, will i gain anything on the macbook wifi card with a 3rd antenna for just 54g wifi use? Why do they need 3 antennas? and if a 3rd antenna will be beneficial will these work?
