Help Needed in choosing a 27 inch Monitor

Hey Guys,

I am a student (in UK) at Uni using a laptop a lot for Gaming and CAD work (mechanical engineering student).

I have decided I need a 27 inch screen to support these two pass times.

My Price budget is to spend less than 275 Pounds (435 USD)

I am looking for the best quality, just care about the screen, don't care for the aesthetics.

MY LAPTOP DETAILS: HP PAVILION DV7
GRAPHICS CARD: ati mobility radeon hd 5650,

The problem is I see no reviews about for the newer model though it was out in the summer.

Cant really see any difference between the two that I can fully understand
