Help with first build
I was looking to make my first build and was wondering if all the parts I picked out were compatible. Also if there were any bottlenecks or anything else I would need (fans, heats inks, wires, etc). Also if I should use different parts. This build will mostly be for gaming. Finally if I should get anymore accessories with this build (gaming chair, gaming desk, another moniter etc.) and will I need any cables to connect to SATA or to connect my mics.
all other input about is appreciated. Thanks and sorry for the terrible way this was written.

Everything looks compatible.
I would suggest a Seasonic or Corsair powersupply. 1KW is pretty overkill even if you're going to sli 580s.
Also many people have had ocz drives fail but theres always a chance that theirs is just luck. I would personally go with a crucial m4.
I am seeing two mousepads. Is there a reason for that?
Also I have used the rat mice and have had two of them break. I currently have a logitech g700 that I find to work very well but that is my personal opinion.

First thing is I would say be sure you want Windows 8 vs. 7 - plenty of articles online can give you an idea of what to expect. I personally would hold off just a bit longer, but that's just me.

Seems like you're pretty much going all out here - but you might be able to save a few bucks if you have a MicroCenter nearby to buy the CPU from. If purely for gaming, the i7 is also not going to really benefit you much compared to the i5.

Planning on overclocking? I didn't see an aftermarket cooler, which with that mobo and everything else, you should certainly consider one and bump the CPU up just a bit.

:welcome: to OCF!

I would go for a Seasonic P 860W (1000W is overkill, unless you plan to go 3 way SLI :D ).

GTX 680 has no real reason to be compared to the GTX 670 which is almost as powerful and cheaper :). Or even better: the AMD HD 7970 is the most powerful one and is still cheaper

If you only do gaming, then the i5 3570K is more than enough. i7 is more for applications (simulation, video editing, compressing, etc...).

For the SSD, I would go for a Samsung or an Intel (or Crucial M4), the issue with OCZ is the impressive performance lost as soon as you have filled half of your drive :(

I personally prefer go with two smaller SSDs (256 GB or less with overprovisionning): any kind of issue would affect only half of my data :D

The MOBO is really good, but my question is: do you really need all these features (99% of the people don't ^^')?
The Asrock Extreme serie is good (Extreme 4 or Extreme 6). The MSI Z77 GD65 is really great. On the Gigabyte side, the UD5H is good too :)

I've read it really quickly but I didn't see an heatsink?

Considering the budget you seem to have, a Thermalright HR02 Macho or a Noctua NH D14 would be perfect (just be careful that it fits in your case, could be an issue with the D14).

I didn't check all the peripherals, will come later ;)

Hey, welcome to OCF!

When trying to recommend a build to you, there's some information that's extremely helpful for us to know. If you could answer these few short questions, we'd be happy to help!

  • What are you planning to do with this compuer? Please be as specfic as possible.
  • What is your budget?
    1. Does this include a copy of Windows?
    2. Does this include peripheals (a keyboard, monitor, mouse, speakers, etc.)?
  • Are you from the United States or a different country? Are you ordering from your own country or from across borders?
    1. Wherever you may be from, does the store that you are planning to order from have a website? It's okay if it isn't in English, we can manage.
    2. If you are from the United States, do you live nearby a Microcenter?
  • Do you have any specific requests with the build?
    1. Do you plan on overclocking? If yes, do you have a specific goal in mind?
    2. Would you prefer the build to be particularly small?
    3. Would you prefer the build to be particularly quiet?
    4. In general, do you prefer this to be a computer that you can spend money on now and let it rest, or a box built for continuous upgrading?
    5. Do you ever plan on utilizing NVIDIA's SLI or AMD's CrossfireX technologies? These features, with a compatible motherboard, allow a user to link multiple identical graphic cards together for added performance. In real world terms, this lets you buy a second identical graphics card down the line as a relatively cheap and easy way to gain a fairly large boost in performance. However, this requires buying a SLI/CFX compatible motherboard and PSU now, which may result in slightly higher initial cost.

Once again, thank you in advance for taking the time to answer these, and I hope you enjoy your stay at OCF! :)

Thank you all for your responses and welcoming me to OCF. Now to answer your questions...

For this computer I am mostly planing to play games in very hi res with really good fps. I might even use some 3d if it is easy enough to set up. I like to play many different titles ranging from Civ V to Borderlands 2 to Batmsn Arkham City to Assaisns Creed 3, DOTA 2... I will also web browse, watch shows and movies, and do schoolwork (word, excell,PowerPoint).

My budget is preferably under 4000 but I can go a bit higher (or lower ;)) this does include a copy of office applications, windows, and preferable (keyboard, mouse, speaker, monitor, fans, etc.)

I am from the United States and in plan on using newegg but I don't mind using other places. Also I sadly don't live near a micro center.

I have never overclocked before but I would like to overclock my CPU and GPU. Nothing major just a bit higher to get the most out of my parts

I do not care about size and I would actually prefer a biggerish case

I do not care to much about how loud my system will be but the quieter the better

I would definitely like to upgrade in the future

Finally I do plan on utilizing crossfire/SLI. If not right now then in the future.

Actually after checking I live nearish a microcenter probably would be a hour - 2 hour (2-4 round trip). I would preferably order online though

If I was thinking of over locking myngpu/CPU what extra fans would I need. Also what extra cooling solutions do I need withhout even overclocking

Even without OC, an heatsink is a good thing to have (I mean a better than the default one ;) ). I already gave you the name of high end heatsinks (Thermalright HR 02 macho or noctua NH D14)

With OC, a better heatsink must be bought, because the default one can't extract enough heat from the chip.

What is not fundamental but still a good thing is to change the fans given with your case and replace them with better one like the Be Quiet! Silentwings 2 PWM or the Be Quiet! Shadowings PWM. :)

2 of these Crucial M4 CT256M4SSD2 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Also 2 680s.

Will this be all compatible

Yes you are good to go it's all compatible. Why do you want two SSDs? Also The ASRock Extreme 4 Z77 overclockes well and is a proven board here, the money you could save could go to a the SSD.

What I'm worried about most now is sound and cooling. Should I get new fans/more fans anything. Also will my case be able to fit two 680 well
