I have a 6900 xt that is on water, and mounted vertically. I've repasted it twice, with hydronaut. When it's first applied, the hotspot really isn't much above gpu temp, maybe 5-7 degrees. But as time has progressed the hotspot has began to creep up and what I suspect is gravity is part of the problem being it's mounted vertically. For example I was playing a fairly low demanding game, 7 days to die. My average gpu temp was 52 with a peak of 63. Whereas the hotspot average was 67 but with a peak of 89. Does that seem to be in line? The important thing is either the T paste isn't lasting very long or gravity is pulling it down from the core as for the first few months the hotspot is much more close to the core temp.
