Doing some upgrades for one of our game servers @ HGHQ.com and was curious if hyper threading helped with hosting dedicated games or not.

Wanted to get a 2.4c or 2.4a and o/c to at least 3.0. So its either I go for the "c" and get the hyper threading or the "a" and get 1mb cache... it will be going into a Asus p4c800 deluxe (non e version)

What do you guys think.

;)

I was planning on doing just that... Going to throw 1.5 gig or ram on it...

Now I'm wondering if the 2.8c would be better to get than the 2.4c/a... o/c'd of coarse:D

For that role I'd really have to suggest you go with a true dual cpu setup.

Dood if I had some mullah I would ;)

I do have an older dual P3 @800Mhz with a gig of ram.. you think that would be better than a P4 @ 3.0?

**** I even have an old school Dell Quad PPR-200 setup with raid 5 scsi lying around... dont think its good for much now days lol!:)

But thanks for the replies
