Hello all,

I just recently got into overclocking/Wcing. My system specs are: Amd XP 2200+ @ 1950(13x160), Radeaon 9600XT @531/321 air cooled, pc2100 ddr( Need to upgrade) timings:2.5-3-3-6, 120Gb maxtor HD . I downloaded 3dmark 01 and 03 and ran the tests. Is there any changes I can make to better my scores or are these scores good? I know i need to upgrade my ram, but money is an issue right now. Please take a look at my diff projects and tell me what you think or what i can change to improve.

The URL links you provided don't work for me.

If you don't already know, 3dmark01 tests your entire computer (CPU, FSB, Memory, and Video Card). 3dmark03 primarily tests just your video card. The best setup for each one is slightly different. Windows 2000 with DirectX 8.1 works best for 3dmark01, and Windows XP with DirectX 9.0 works best for 3dmark03.

For 3dmark01, you want the max overclock for your CPU, FSB, memory, and video card (of course). You also want to set all the video card settings to max performance (not max quality). You should disable AA (anti-aliasing) and AF (anistrophic filtering). You should also disable the FOG setting.

As for Windows, a fresh install with the bare minimum services running works best. Check out www.blackviper.com for more info about which services can safely be shutdown. I use a separate partition on my HD for benchmarking with no antivirus software, no internet security software, etc. installed.
