Integrated sound or not?

I'm thinking of getting this motherboard for my first build:
ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 AMD Motherboard

But looking at its specs compared to other mobos I don't see an integrated sound card, just 8 audio channels. Does this mean i need to buy my own sound card or will it work without one.

8 channel sound is your soundcard looks like Realtek if you zoom in

Yup, there's one built in.
Anything that mentions audio channels has a sound card built in.

Come to think of it, i haven't seen a motherboard without onboard sound in years.

True. About the only boards without sound these days are just server boards

The MSI Big Bang-XPower doesnt actually have integrated Sound. It Requires the addon card that is provided with the board for sound.
