hi im a new noobie here at overclockers, just joined today....
i was hoping if somebody can help me overclock my desktop with atom chipset?

Intel D410PTL - http://ark.intel.com/products/48480/Intel-Desktop-Board-D410PTL

Processor: Intel Atom D410 - 1.66ghz (2cpu's) ~1.7ghz
RAM: 3gb
Video: Intel GMA 3150

can anybody help me? i really want to speed up my pc, or if not can i do anything else to get a better performance with my current pc specs?

Atoms do not support overclock (at least that I know of) and even if they supported it overvolting would require hard mods and would be a PITA.

There's not much you can do with that Hyper-threaded Atom. You could try a light Linux build (maybe Lubuntu for LXDE, or a custom Arch + Openbox) for the sake of it.

hmmmmm....not really familiar with Linux yet but I would like to try it, can i dual boot it with windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit?

I know linux doesn't have much supported applications unlike windows, will the performance be better?
