I've got my W/C setup complete... my P4 2.53 @3116mhz is 25C idle temps...

My w/c pics and temps

Current waterflow: Submerged pump--->heatercore--->CPU block--->submerged pump. No ice, no water chiller, etc.

Main computer specs:
P4 2.53
Asus P4B533-E
Corsair XMS 3200 C2 256mb
Ati Radeon 9700 PRO
Maxtor 40 ATA 133 HDD
Enermax 433 watt PSU

Water cooling specs:
CPU block: Maze 3
Heatercore: 11.25 x 6.5 x 2.5 GM motors. This was a special order from Oreilly's Autoparts. This was the largest heatercore they had in this kind. I searched their whole friggin' catelog. It only cost $50 bucks though.
Tubing: Clearflex 60 1/2" ID
PUMP: Eheim 1250
Water Additives: Distilled water, 5% Zerex Racing Super Coolant

Test 1:
2.53 @ 2907mhz @Default vcore- Idle: 25C, load: 28C
I've looped 3dmark 2001 w/ 6xAA no prob. So far so good...

Test 2:
2.53 @ 3002mhz @1.525vcore - Idle: 26-27C, load: 29C
I've looped 3dmark 2001 with 6xAA no problem afew times now. Though with default vcore(1.5v) I was kicked out of 3dmark almost immediately.

Test 3:
2.53 @ 3040mhz @ 1.55 vcore - Idle: 28-29C, load: 32C
I tried 3dmark with 1.525vcore and I came up 3dmark errors popping up. So I restarted and set the vcore to 1.55. I've looped 3dmark again afew times. System did not freeze up or anything, though I noticed afew of the colorful swiggly line artifacts in the High Polygon 8 lights and Car Chase High detail tests. Is the end near, we'll find out... Also if you've noticed in my w/c pics, only half of my heatercore is being cooled. I'm still awaiting another shroud and fan. Also my fan is pushing computer air through the heatercore instead of pulling air through. I put the damn fan backwards.

Test 4:
2.53 @ 3078 @ 1.6 vcore - Idle: 30C, load: 32C
I tried 3078mhz @ 1.55 and 1.575, both failed. At 1.55 the computer restarted during 3dmark. At 1.575, after going through ~1.5 loops I was kicked out of 3dmark. Though the computer did not restart that time.

Test 5:
2.53 @ 3116mhz 1.6 vcore - Idle: 25C, load 30C This was after I switched my 120mm fan from pushing to pulling Everything was going well in Prime95 until my computer restarted. It ran for a good 15 mins than rebooted out of nowhere. Well hey, its goods enough to get afew 3dmark scores ran. :p I've raised the vcore to 1.625v and I'm currently running Prime95 again to test for stabilty. I'll run for 30 mins, if no problems. Then to me, thats stable.

Currently I'm running a simple loop since I haven't received my GPU block(MCW50-T). Since I have a Dtek heatercore lying around also I'm going to make 2 seperate loops in the near future.

CPU loop: Submerged Eheim 1250 Pump--->HUGE heatercore--->CPU block--->submerged Eheim 1250 pump

GPU loop: Submerged Eheim C-600 or 1000--->dtek heatercore--->GPU block--->submerged Eheim C-1000

Eventually I'll add a 226watt on the CPU and purchase a seperate PSU for the TEC(s).

I've updated my 1st post and included alot more information. I'll keep adding my "Test Results" to my first post. The link that I provided will contain Sandra and Asus Probe screenies for proof.

Also, I no longer have the water in the reservoir exposed. I put the coolant and pump in a 6 pack cooler and duck taped it shut. ALOT safer.

lightbulb8817, Howdy this is Pyro. ;)

This forum allows you to upload pics to the forum. All you have to do is have the pics on your harddrive. Neato....

Though, since I didn't save my w/c pics to my HDD(they are still on my camera's memory stick and Angelfire webshell) I also cannot view them because of Angelfire's bandwidth limit. That means I can't copy and paste my own friggin' pics.

I guess I'll wait until like 3 AM and to do it.

Click the above link to view my 2.53 @ 3116 1.6v at 30C LOAD using Prime95. I had taken out the 120mm fan that was pushing instead of pulling and installed it correctly this time(which was a pain). My CPU temps @ 3116mhz 1.6v were around 30C idle, now they hang around 25C. My mobo temps dropped ALOT also, about 6C.

Alright...I'v pushed this P4 about as far as it can go with regular water.

The highest stable settings were 2.53 @ 3116mhz (19x 164) 1.625 vcore - Idle: 26C, load 30C. I ran Prime95 for 30 mins, no problem. Thats stable enough for me.

3116 - 2533 = 583mhz overclock. Not to shabby at just 1.625v.

When I uped the FSB to 166 I keep coming up with hardware errors in Prime95. I tried voltages all the way up to 1.75v. When I booted with 1.75v I had multiple problems. Asus Probe came up in some other language, errors popping up, etc. So I thought uping the vcore to 1.8v would be useless. I need better cooling.

I'll continue my P4 overclocking quest when I receive my 226watt TEC and Pyramid 35A 700 watt PSU for the TEC(s).

To be continued...

sounds like it could be a cooling problem with you motherboard. My 8k5a3+ has this problem past 166, but was easily solver with northbridge lapping and a socket A cooler

I was wondering that. Do you think AS 3 and a good heatsink would be sufficient? I don't really want to lap anything. Just incase this mobo dies I can still RMAer.

For some reason I always have the fear of my parts suddenly crapping out.

Note: The coolant is no longer exposed. Its now in a 12 pack Igloo cooler taped shut. ALOT safer.
