Main contenders:

The XPS 13 is tempting too as it's said to have a lot of speed. (http://deals.dell.com/productdetail...acd=12309198375458460&VEN3=813804200225065783)

I can't decide which one to get. My laptop habits are pretty intensive and my current one is about to hit the bucket (it's too slow for me now).
I frequently have 5 word docs, 2 ppts, 3 internet windows with 40 tabs, and maybe a 3d printer program open all at the same time.

Budget:$1100 (prefer under $1000)
I will be using this laptop for grad school starting in the fall. I need Microsoft 360 too (some laptops come with it)

Ideal laptop traits in order of importance:
Speed
Battery
Keyboard (no stick, need backlit)
Trackpad (no accidental clicks or problems, no drag)
Size (under 15.6, though alarger screen does tempt me due to multitasking ability. if it's light enough maybe 15.6 or above. 13" seems a bit small too)
Screen
Visuals
ports (usb a and hdmi)
Durability/longevity
tech support

Also, how important is ddr3 vs ddr4 for laptops?
Double also, if I get a 2k display and keep it at 1080p will the battery life go up significantly?

Any known laptops coming to the market soon that are worth waiting for?
What haven't I considered? Thoughts?

THANKS!
