So I recently built a new gaming PC and it is running just great (with some help from these forums :D) and now my little bros birthday is coming up and he wants one too. He is has a much smaller budget than I had so I am not that familiar with the lower end parts at the moment. The budget is about $700 and as I have learned AMD/ATI give you the best bang for your buck. I have done some research and this is what I have come up with.

MOBO http://ncix.com/products/?sku=51007&vpn=M4A89GTD PRO/USB3&manufacture=ASUS&promoid=1371

CPU http://ncix.com/products/?sku=47459&vpn=HDZ955FBGMBOX&manufacture=AMD&promoid=1371

RAM http://ncix.com/products/?sku=57953&vpn=F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL&manufacture=G.Skill

GPU http://ncix.com/products/?sku=58225&vpn=GV-R685OC-1GD&manufacture=Gigabyte&promoid=1371

PSU http://ncix.com/products/?sku=56970&vpn=RS550-PCARE3&manufacture=COOLERMASTER

HDD http://ncix.com/products/?sku=57432&vpn=WD5002AALX&manufacture=Western Digital WD

Case http://ncix.com/products/?sku=55583&vpn=RC-912-KKN1&manufacture=COOLERMASTER

So those are my picks at the moment and I feel like they are pretty strong, but I just want to ask you guys to check it over and see if you would change anything that could save money or get a better part for the same amount. I would wait until bulldozer, but his birthday is at the end of the month so I want to give him something on his actual birthday.

I know that SB is much better than the 955, but its almost an extra $100 more. That deal isnt too wonderful considering I get a case I dont want and it only saves me 50 bucks. I think I will go do some research into making a cheap 2500k build, but then I know I will want to buy a new heatsink and see how far I can OC it :D I will revise my choices and post a new set of parts.

Check out my "cheapest 2500k" build. I have a few different links/setups for what I thought would work for me. If you skimp somewhat on the mobo, you can get a combo down pretty low. Without a gpu you can get sub 500 if you find the right combo / discounts.

Ok so I looked into the 2500k build and it comes out to an extra 150 so that may still be an option. It would be a lot cheaper but I live in Canada and there is a 13% tax on everything which sucks when you are buying expensive items like this.
