Looking for opinions on G-Sync

So I'm building a new gaming PC and have the EVGA 980ti Classified video card.

I'm looking into purchasing a 1440p monitor (Dell Gaming S2716DG) and I'm wondering if the g-sync is worth the extra roughly ~$170-200 compared to other non-gsync monitors.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

No, it will be strictly for gaming.

Then that's the monitor I would choose.
GSync is worth it, especially for a gaming system. It eliminates the possibility of screen tearing.
