hi guys,

I have 2 X 4gb = 8gb of ram in an APU-A6 setup with 1 Hdd only.

- the igp takes 2.5gb dedicated
- there may be some for other system reserved lets say 1gb

So 8gb - 2.5gb - 1gb = 4.5gb remaining.

-------------------

However, AIDA64 and System properties show 8gb (1.5gb usable)

4.5gb remaining - 1.5gb usable = 3gb "MIA missing in action"

-------------------

- Its a 64bit OS Windows 7 Pro
- Dimm slots on the motherboard are working fine, tested other rams in it.
- Ram stick are working fine, tested these stick on another motherboard
- Bios latest version
- Same results when overclocked or stock setting

--------------------

If anyone knows which direction I should head next?:attn:

thanks for pointing that out...

Its showing 6.6gb hardware reserved!:attn:

That's fine. Hardware reserved could be a few things. I lost RAM due to "hardware reserved" with an unstable RAM OC. Could be some sort of onboard video hogging RAM as well. Might have to fiddle with some BIOS options to get it back.

Start | Type msconfig in the "Start Search" field, and hit ENTER | Configuration Utility--> "Boot" tab | "Advanced options" button | Under the "BOOT Advanced Options" dialog, make sure the "Maximum memory" option isn't checked. If it is checked, uncheck it and reboot. You may also want to make note as to what model board you have, if the BIOS supports Memory remapping, and if the option (if available) is enabled or not.
