There really isn't a max safe speed for either the board or the CPU (whatever CPU it is - hint). It'll do what it will do and you won't hurt anything trying.
If you want to know what most people run, the cpuNB usually tops out around 26-2700 MHz with good CPU cooling and a high overclock. With the HT Link it depends on the CPU. X4's like the stock 2000 MHz speed, X6's tend to like an HT Link speed that matches the cpuNB speed.
