would be nice if it worked.

you can't seperate the combo from the card so the promo code won't work, tryed many different things and still it adds far cry 2 to the card,

Thats wierd , 'cause it worked fine without the combo the other day . I tried it today and your correct . WTH ?

Here is the promo page it came from , showing the MSI deal without the combo (3rd row/ left side)

Maybe a call to the Egg or send a pm to the Egg's rep here at ocf may clear up the problem .

yea, you can see they want it to work because they want you to select the the Far Cry 2 combo from the combo list, but they made the add item button add both the card and the game :bang head

Now the real question is it worth it from a 4850 or is it 280+ or bust?

For your monitor it might be worth it if you get a decent resell price on your 4850 the difference isn't huge. The additional memory alone would help with AA/AF and newer games.

That's what I was thinking. I figure that most 4850s resell for $100-$125? (sorry off topic)

At least $100 I think although I haven't been keeping up with used or even new prices. There are also new cards coming in Q2 at the latest so it might not be long before there's something better to upgrade to or current cards might get a bit cheaper. Just upgrade when you need to is the best thing imo.

Very tempting but I will have to upgrade my 450w PSU as well so it will be pricey - Think I'll hold out a bit longer a go for a 285

Looks like the Evga I listed on the orignal post is $10 cheaper with a "weekend sale" for $190 AMIR . http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...4130434&CMP=AFC-C8Junction&CMP=AFC-C8Junction

Danm , these prices are getting almost as low as I paid in Dec for my 260's WITH using my Amex Wish list discount . Who would have thought the new 260/216/55mn would hit under $200 so soon .

I've read that the 55nm cards don't overclock as well since they have leaner cooling. That true?
