Msi Hypertransport sync flood error.

Hey guys/gal,

I've tried replacing the ram, cpu, upping the volts, updating the bios ver ,stress testing with prime, memtest, furmark and the error never shows itself until I just load up World of Warcraft and let it sit on the main screen for about 5-10mins then the error will pop up. Any idea what what be causing this? I mean can a game really cause this error?

I'm running a MSI 870-G45 x2 4gb g.skill lockjaws,AMD Phenom II X2 555 BE.

I was getting this error with the old bios as well, So I updated it hoping it would solve the problem which it didn't

Are you overclocked? If so, can you post CPU-Z screen shots of CPU, Memory, and SPD tabs. Also list your cpuNB and RAM voltage settings.

HT is HyperTransport bus, for some reason the information on there is compromised.
Mostly this is due to:

1 Ram running wrong timings or broken ( Low or inadequete memory voltage ).

2 Powersupply not delivering enough stable power

3 Broken CPU ( Low or inadequete voltage to the cpu for loading conditions ).

4 Broken videocard or other PCIe device

5 Broken motherboard ( Board may also have too little HT voltage and could be raised. HT bus could be set too high. ETC ).

It's normally not caused by drivers or BIOS revision.
But if you think it is, verify against XP 32bit, see if it happens there too.
Swap parts until you found the guilty part, not much more you can do.

I have been g00gling for a few days and have finally found those 1 thru 5 probable causes listed one after the other in one place. Those five possible causes are found separately or two or three in one place in 'search' after search and the hits to read are many many. I have added other information from "other" g00gle hits in the parentheses above.

Somewhat similar problem.
MSI 870-G45
8gb g.skill lockjaws
AMD Phenom II X2 555 BE unlocked to x4
Antec 500watt PSU
and mine works fine for win7 64 even when gaming(BC2)
but when I install Linux Mint 10 and reboot it gives the error.
But then I can reboot and if I choose win7 in GRUB it's fine.
What does that tell you?
