Hi guys ...

I tried a French forum but the guys there were not very helpful.

But I'm sure that you all be able to give me an advice about the items I have choosen for my 1st system ...

I currently use :

- Motherboard Asus P9X79
- CPU Intel Core i7-4820K
- Graphics Asus GTX770 DC2OC-2GD5 (getting this on next Monday)
- Case Corsair Obsidian 800D

I have planned to get this for the WC system (sorry it is on a French store website) :

1 x http://www.docmicro.com/pieces/WaterBlock-CPU-EK-SUPREMACY-NICKEL-ACETAL_10426.html

Do you think I need something else ? Or maybe I can remove something from this list ?

I'm waiting for all your advices ..

Thanks in advance for your messages ...

To many links to click through, could you add them by item as well.

Sorry guys for only providing links ...

Here are the details of the order I am preparing :

1 x Thermal Pad Ultra High Perf 5W/mk 100*100*0.5mm
1 x Backplate for GeForce GTX 680 DCII & GTX 770 DCII NOIR - EK Water Blocks
1 x WaterBlock VGA EK-FC770 ACETAL - EK Water Blocks
1 x Tank Balancer 150 Silver - Phobya
10m x Tube PVC souple Feser Tube - 10mm inside, 13mm outside
6 x Iron Connectors 1/4" for 10/13mm tube - The Feser Company
1 x Double connector 10/13 - VLV-10TSPL - KooLance
2L x Cooling Liquid XT-1 Bleu - Mayhems
1 x Temperature Sensor HighFlow 1/4" + LCD Display - DOC Micro
1 x RAD RS360 XSPC
6 x Fan 120*120*25mm G-Silent Quiet Edition - Phobya
1 x WaterBlock CPU EK-SUPREMACY NICKEL ACETAL - EK Water Blocks

What you think about this list ?

I'm not sure what the thermal pad even is, let alone what it's for.

The backplate for the graphics card is unnecessary, don't get it for anything but looks.

You can do better on the tubing, but I'm not sure what's available on your side of the pond...see if you can come up with some Primochill LRT Advanced, it will do better. What you have is ok, it will probably leech a little plasticizer and won't turn as nicely as the primochill.

What is the "double connector" for?

That colored fluid may settle out in your loop and clog your blocks, we recommend distilled water and colored tubing if you want it to have a color.

The temp sensor is unnecessary, but if you want it, have at it.

I'm not sure how your English is (it seems quite good), but if you can understand the sticky at the top of this board, I would strongly recommend reading that before you buy anything.

Hi ..

The thermal pad is a little plastic part we sometimes find on CPU and/or GPU, but if it is not really needed, i'll take it off from the list.

The website I'm planning to place the order on, des have Primochill tubes but not Advanced LT, only Primoflex Pro ... Could it work as well as the Advanced LT ?

The double connector is supposed to be useful when I'll need to take all the liquid off the system ... It will go directly in a bottle and be thrown away and then replaced with proper liquid.

You were talking about distilled water. Nothing should be added to the water ? It can then be used directly in the cooling system ? If yes, this is a good news cause my mother has a small tropical garden and needs to prepare her own distilled water...

Ok for the sensor, it was just in case of ... Removed !

What sticky link were you talking about ??

LePousson

Ps: thanks for your help ...
Ps2 : I just realized that I forgot this little thing called "The Pump" ...!!

Oh, is it that kinda thermal pad? All the requisite thermal pads should come with the blocks that need them, but you should probably verify that.

I'm not 100% on the tubing, I think the primo pro will give you plasticizer issues, someone else will probably be by to verify that for you.

The double connector seems like it might be used for a T-line, which is fine, plenty of people use those for drains, I'd just never seen that particular one before. Personally, I don't use a t-line or anything to drain my loop, I just pull a component (usually my res), hold it over a bucket, and pop a tube off of it.

You'll need a biocide in the water, something like PT nuke, you can also use a silver kill coil.

I'm a big believer in just monitoring the component temps to ensure that your loop is cooling properly. If everything is staying cool, there's no real need to sweat the water temperature, and if it's not staying cool, then you can just use a little thermometer to check the water temps and see if that's your issue.

Water cooling sticky that I mentioned earlier.

I just received the GTX770 this morning ... I spent part of the afternoon launching some tests and playing my fav games ...

This cooling system (DirectCU II) is awesome ... 33/34°C when idling in OC mode ...

I will keep on testing it and see how the temperature goes during the week end ...

Welcome to OCFs!

You already put the liquid cooling system together? Did you properly do a leak test and what liquids/biocide and pump did you use? That tubing will give you plasticize issues.

I would advise you to read our watercooling stickies at all cost or you might pay for it at the end. Seems like you rushed this. Wish you good luck!

You did not read carefully my messages ... I NEVER said that I had bought all that stuff, it was only a project ans I was only requesting an opinion and some advices...

Oops. Sorry lol I took it as you put your liquid cooling system together with your GPU and were testing things out.
