I'm pretty sure i got a 2.4C...
My idle temp with stock cooling is 45C and about 55C after playing a game.

Are those normal for stock cooling?

I just got a zalman CNPS7000A-Cu , im going to install it later

Download CPU-Z and check to see what chip you have, www.cpuid.com

Never owned one, but i know my Northwoods (C) ran around 32-35 at idle. And it never saw a stock cooler, so i can't comment on that either. I would get some AS5 and put that cooler on, then check temps.

artic silver paste? i got the stuff that came with the cooler...

uh yea, i used cpuz before, but i didnt know what everything meant.

Under "Specification" it says what CPU it is, it will even say if you have the "M0" stepping, the 2.4's that typically clock the highest.

i see northwood for mine, but all mine says is "pentium 2.4ghz" not "2.4Cghz"

Is it the "revision"? because mine is C1
