need help over clocking my AMD cpu

hello i have an AMD athlon 64 X2 6000+ CPU running at 3.01 GHz heres a link to my motherboard

can some one help me overclock this cpu a cpu upgrade isnt possible right now if it matters im using the stock CPU cooler

What are you cooling the CPU with, the stock cooler or a good aftermarket product? Those Athlon X2 6000+ CPUs run hot to begin with so a good cooler and good case ventilation would be an imperative to overclocking it. Also realize that CPU is at the top of the clock ladder already for it's family line. It shipped out of the factory already overclocked (as it were). AMD already had to turn up the core voltage to get it to run at the 6000+ frequency level so there may not be much overclocking headroom left.

im running the stock cooler if i do over clock it to 3.4GHz will it help with games like resident evil 5 or no if it wont improve or help my games that much then ill keep it stock with no OC
