I'm asking this cause my asus mobo a7v8x-x didnt work, so I rma'd it and they sent back another one, still doesnt work, then i noticed it said non-ecc memory. so, i was wondering if my RAM was causing the board not to work.

Usually, unbuffered means un-registered. And ECC is almost always regulated to registered memory. Therefore, usually, if it's non-registered it's also non-ECC.
