hi, so i just bought a new mobo + cpu and the av8 default runs at 204mhz. I get occasional restarts and everytime i play game such as CS-SOURCE or even running 3dmark 2005 it will lock up the computer

so i set it to 200 and it runs everything perfectly. is it cuz the ram can't do 204@ stock voltage? it's on 2-2-2-5

i ran the ocz memtest in dos and it didn't show up any errors in either 200mhz or 204


i thought most people can do at least up to like 220 at 2-2-2-5?

ocz specs those sticks at 2.75volts, so technically theyre already undervolted at 2.6. up it to about 2.8 and all should be well.

ah, guess i overlooked
just checked the website, indeed 2.75

my av8 has 2.60, 2.65, 2.70, 2.80 in windows OC GURU utility
i'll try 2.7 and see

maybe in bios has more settings but i doubt it

Go into the BIOS, sometimes you get more options in there than you do in windows based overclocking porggys.
