Hey guys,

About to start ordering for my new Intel build. Grabbing the ASUS P5K-E here and wondering what type of RAM to pair with it.

Is it worth paying more for PC2-8500 over PC2-6400? Either way I'm going to get Crucial Ballistix, a 2x1GB kit, just not sure if it would be beneficial to spend more. I'm pairing all this with an E2180 until the E8400's come out and are widely available.

how much are u going to OC? if your going to OC a lot then the 8500 might be better. I have the 6400 and have it running at 1100Mhz 5-5-5-5-15 timmings with 2.2 or 2.25 volts.
its fast. that 8500 should go faster.

Well when I get the E8400 my goal will be 4.0GHz. :) I believe that chip runs at a 9x multiplier, so I guess the PC2-6400 would be fine?
