Question about PCI-E slots in the Maximus V Formula

Question to those who are familiar with this board...it has 3 PCI-E slots, would I be loosing any read speed if I put a Sound Card in Slot 1, and HD 7970s in slots 2 and 3...Im trying to arrange my set up to make it easier on my water cooling loop design.

I would put the Sound card in slot three, and the the two 7970's in slots 1&2
