SETI Presentation in Redding CA

The Redding Turtle Bay Museum is doing a feature on SETI and Planets. Included in the kick off events is:

A presentation by SETI scientist Jill Tarter and a screening of the film “Contact” at 7 p.m. June 21 at the Cascade Theatre.

Join very special guest, renowned astronomer Dr. Jill Tarter, Director of the Center for SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence Research) as she talks about her life and work. Dr. Tarter, who was named one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people in the world, will speak on Shasta County's connection with SETI. Tarter, portrayed by Jodie Foster in the Oscar-nominated film Contact, will also be available for questions after the big-screen viewing of the movie, based on the book by Carl Sagan.
