Picked up the drives for the new rig this week:

2 WD 80GB SE's that I'm going to run in a RAID0 array for my OS and games, and a 200 gig SE for storing TV programs I want to record.

Each is twice as big as I planned to buy when I made out my original list, and I'll be the first to say 160 gig for games and 200 gig for tv shows and mp3's is way over the top. But WD is running some killer rebates through Best Buy and Circuit City this week. After the rebates my final cost is going to be less than 95 cents a gig. For that price, why not?

I currently have total avaliable space recognized by windows is 364Gigs capacity (about 60% total used). in a month I will be adding another 120 or 200 (atleast) going for the Terabyte baby!!!! :D:D:D

Breakdown is:
1 - 30Gig Maxtor (System)
1 - 40Gig Maxtor (KaZaA)
1 - 120Gig WD SE (Anime)
1 - 200Gig WD SE (FTP - ie, Data drive)

(spares are 2 - 30Gig Maxtors and 1 - 40Gig Maxtors which are occasionally in machine for backup and restore purpouses)

*edit* 18.1 and 9.2 Gig SCSIs were removed due to controller Didnt like my overclock :D ;) )

80GB Maxtor DM9 -------------->getting full
30GB cant remember make -->full

Running out of space, planning on adding a 120GB drive on top sometime. I have many many movies which take up tons of space. Many games too.

one Maxtor 160GB drive and one Maxtor 40GB drive, the second will go soon, so I am in the 141-160GB area :D

1 - 15gb seagate
2 - 40gb maxtor (mp3's)
2 - 30gb maxtor (in primary machines)
1 - 60gb maxtor (movies, captures and rips)

320GB, around 300 useable.

2x 40GB IBM Deskstar 120GXPs - one for system/OS, other for music
2x 120GB WD SE's - for series/movies

waiting on the 36GB WD Raptor to become available here ;)

1xMaxtor 60Gig
2xMaxtor 30Gig (1 is out being RMA'd)
1xMaxtor 2.5Gig
1xMaxtor 1.2Gig
=123.7Gig

Seems like alot, but it isn't.

heh, just check my sig :)
i also have a 20gb swapdrive, but that ones not always in my main machine..
quite easy for me to fill them tho :)

Usually have a WD 120GB, but something is wrong with it, so I have to RMA it. Thank God I could get most of the data off of it, before it went under. I'm borrowing a 60GB from a friend until I get the new drive.

the poll probably needs more ranges over 200gb

I have 5 x 80GB, although only 3 in the case right now.

prolly 2 120gb (i will guess western digitals)
That's what I was thinking. That's probably the fastest you could do on IDE.
The FASTEST would be to get Ultra160 (or Ultra320) SCSI, with 15 x 16Gig 15,000 RPM drives hardware RAID 0. =240gig. That would be SO fast..
