Do not use heatspreaders...they hamper more then help...plus with TCCD's...they wont need the voltage to create enough heat to warrant any spreaders...

Most TCCD runs best at 2.9v and below...
 
The Value G.Skill Is not TCCD. Also there have been many problems reported of overheating so to make these work error free people have to rig a fan to blow a fan accros them to get the errors to go away. I'm thinking mabye the Heatspreaders would help a bit.
 
Sorry...didnt even click on the link...

But the problem with all aftermarket heat spreaders is...they use a flimsy thermal tape that does not help extract the heat...but in turn traps the heat which in turn heats up the PCB which in turn reheats the memory chips...so you are actually running a great big heat cycle that hampers the OC and heat issues...

Best thing to do is like you stated...just position a fan over or to the sides of the ram and cool them this way...
