Hi,

I am not so sound with electronics therefore my question. Why is it sufficient to cool the mosfets but not the ferrit cores? The heat sinks on every mobo always leave out these blocks though they get equaly hot during load.

still want to cool my VRMs. Is there another clever way to fix cooling blocks except with thermal tape/glue? (my pcb does not offer holes for screws) Unfortunately tape/glue offer very bad thermal conductivity as compared to paste.

Since heat dissipation is a function of surface area what would you prefer; several small copper blocks (maybe thermally connected by tape) or one larger aluminum block? As far as I saw it is impossible to get copper blocks larger than 2x2cm.
