unRaid Server Pro key - support up to 16 hard drives

Im NOT buying a key to be able to make a NAS. Im just gonna load either Debian or Kubuntu and configure it as a Server.

Im looking at using something along the lines of 12 HDD's (120-160gb), so at this point Im gonna have to revert to using a non NAS OS.

you should look into OpenFiler.... i have one set up and I love it. logical volume management, it is working with my hardware raid 1 arrays, it was a little bit tricky to set up at first, so it took a couple of tries, but once its set up, no need to mess with anything again

Hows about something with ZFS? Its pretty much a rip off of WAFL, so you'll end up with a mini NetApp when you are done.
