WORK IN PROGRESS! WILL BE DONE SOON! WORKS CITED COMING SOON!

I feel like adressing the issue of what throws off more heat. Also, this will provide some general knowledge to OCforums on how much heat different modern CPU's generate.

Now, to be perfectly clear, this information is from other websites, so refer to the works cited.

KEY:
*= Mobile CPU unless it has its own category
**= Low power or ULV variant.
***=1MB Cache Athlon 64's
****= Maximum thermal design power rating for the entire line of processors. AMD seems to like giving out the maxTDP for an entire series vs. individual specifications for each processor. This bassically means that any CPU in that line should not run any warmer than the maxTDP. Now many models will run cooler than this figure.

AMD Socket 462

Athlon XP+MP
180nm Palomino
  • 1500+ : 60 thermal watts
  • 1600+ : 62.8 thermal watts
  • 1700+ : 64 thermal watts
  • 1800+ : 66 thermal watts
  • 1900+ : 68 thermal watts
  • 2000+ : 70 thermal watts
  • 2100+ : 72 thermal watts

  • 2000+ : 60.3 thermal watts
  • 2100+ : 62.1 thermal watts
  • 2200+ : 62.8-67.9 thermal watts
  • 2400+ : 65.3-68.3 thermal watts
  • 2600+ : 68.3 thermal watts
  • 2700+ : 68.3 thermal watts

I don't have specs on the mobile Bartons at the moment but they are extremely self explanetory. 35 watt, 45 watt, etc.
