My personal Fav is GUILDFTP which is pretty easy to set up but has some great functionality. If your looking for just a basic barebones that requires virtually no setup try BabyFTP. Be warned that BabyFTP has virtually no security so anyone can log on as an annonymous account. Its a Good quick way to get something up to share files though..........
Also i you want a nice P2P for you and your closest friends do a google search for WASTE. Its a chat room and file shareing proggy that is encrypted and only accessable by those you allow in. Was developed by the guy who brought us Winamp and he released the code as a kind of an F.U. to the people who bought winamp from him. They quickly stopped the release but it was already out there so it lives on the net.
